  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

To Celebrate....

You know actually my first guess I honestly had no idea, I just thought of a great NC stick. Then I saw where you said you talk about them all the time, and in no time I noticed you mentioned the Padron as your fav...so I just got the ball rolling. PM incoming.

I've seen this picture before and was very sad for the owner. Now at a second look I noticed that these were probably fake anyway. Tell me why i say that, and I'll send you a real one.

disclaimer: i'm an idiot, and could be wrong.

Is it because they don't have the double band?

Hmm...so the double band proves they are fakes? I would have guessed the bands. But not that it was because there was two of them.

The current Padron anniversary have a second, numbered band underneath the first, ostensibly to defend against counterfeiting:

I'm not sure when they added the numbered band, though. Here's a CA article on the subject:

ETA: According to CA, the second band was added in February 2001:

One the real ones, ther is a second band, slightly overlapped by the main band, with a unique number on it. every cigar s individually numbered to help prevent counterfeiting. Now if the originals didn't have it, then I could be wrong about the picture, but anyhow, for use in today,s market, you should be seeing a second band.
