I've been looking to forward to coming home after work and trying my first Pinar del Rio (an Oscuro robusto) all day! I get home cut it with my Palio, set it to flame and the first couple puffs tasted pretty good from what I remember. Unfortunately it took a serious dive south that it never recovered from before having to pitch it within the first third. I got blasted with a bitter, ammonia-like taste on the tongue. I looked for tunnels, but I couldn't see one (which doesn't mean it wasn't there I guess). I did notice that it wasn't producing much smoke either - after drawing on it, there was little to no smoke coming off the cigar. And now I don't have time for another before having to head out again. DAMNIT!
Seemed like it had potential right away.......
