  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I liked Holt's until about 5 minutes ago!

That actually sounds like a scam to me...look up their CS number online and call them up and find out what's up...

You should be able to request that your ID be checked upon delivery if you do not feel comfortable giving them that much info. I ran into this same issue when I was attempting to get my hands on some Iron City beer out of Pittsburgh. They do not sell in Mi, but could get it shipped with ID upon delivery. A little bit of a pain...but with identity theft being such an issue...you never know!

but they occasionally have such tasty treats! but, i guess that i too, am done with holts. :hanghead:
Nothing I can't find from another retailer.

This is about covering their asses when THE MAN (State and federal) cracks down on all of the taxes they have lost.

I would never send a copy of my ID to a retailer of any sort...no way no how! That's just asking for trouble.

The next letter would be from your state tax agency, telling you that you need to pay them state sales tax on the items you had shipped from another state.

I would say they are just covering their asses on selling tobacco to minors

I would not send them a copy of your dl. to easy to give the state your info
if heat was put on them for taxes and such

I think that it sent out randomly. I think they will still ship to you...
I agree, I have never gotten the letter and I would never give them the info. Just place another order and if they ask again then I would use them again. .02

I received this letter as well a long time ago. When I was doing a phone order I asked about it and the girl was like "what, an age verification letter?" So I just ignored the whole thing. I can still order.

In my experience it's safe to just ignore this and get your order. Ignoring the request will not cancel what you want to purchase.
