  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I've been saving my cigar bands for a little while now trying to figure out what to make with them. I decided on an accessory box. A place for my lighters, cutters, & draw poker. It's not professional by any means, but I'm proud of it.
It took a few weeks to make. I bought the rough pre-made box. Sanded it down nice & gave it a nice cherry stain & a few coats of polyurethane. Then once that was all done I took memory glue & glued on some bands in one direction as a base for the lid. Once that was dry I put on two coats of modge podge to harden them up. Then two coats of clear coat spray. Last I did the top layer of bands the same way as the first. Only I put on about five layers of modge podge & seven of the clear coat spray.

Just the top on this one. I like the way the cherry stain looks on the natural wood grain.
