  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Heartbraking--not for the weak stomach!

So a buddy found a shop with a box of original Guapos, and I decided to splurge and split them with him. I got my half of the box today...all had cracked wrappers, 1/2 slight and not a huge deal, but 1/2 were bad and 2 might not smoke...tragic! He didn't check them before giving them to me, and thinks they arrived this way. He's going to ask the shop for replacements, but I'm not holding my breath.

New blog idea...bad cigar porn...

That sucks...atleast they look somewhat salvageable...good luck bro!
Yea, the two on the left are the worse, badly smashed through the binders. If I don't send them back for an exchange somehow, of course I'll try to smoke them anyway, but those are the two I'm worried about. The others are just cracked wrappers...which sucks, but hopefully the wrappers won't fall off or get worse as the sit and while they burn.

It's a bit depressing, I'll admit. I haven't purchased cigars in a couple months, but this deal was just too great of an opportunity...I was REALLY excited to get them...then...disaster!

I know we've all been there. It wasn't my first time, won't be the last...but in this case, I can't just call up CS and demand replacements so I'm a little worried.

Thankfully it's only the foot. I suggest ye get from Heartfelt the wrapper repair glue. Cheap and will do the job for those.

Nate, for some reason I have had wrapper problems with the OG's too. I haven't ever received any that were cracked but every once in a while I be smoking one and hear a crack. Sure enough the wrapper will have split on me while I am smoking it. Good news is they still smoke fine.

Thats not a bad idea. The only BBMF I have ever had was crushed
by my son. I still have it in the humi and it really makes my stomach turn everytime I see it:crytears:
That really sucks.
Who's that in your avatar by the way?

Ya know after looking closely at the photos (crystal clear I might add) you can see how much the wrappers have shrunk, a sure sign of them drying out. They most likely cracked when moisture was reintroduced, IMHO I suspect that these were stored away, forgotten about, recently found and unsuccessfully rehydrated.

No pictures to see now.

I never give away or sell sticks before inspecting them. Friend or not, I would send them back to your friend and get the money back. Let him deal with the problems, the bad sticks should not be your problem. Getting shitty cigars of any kind are not acceptable in this manor.

Looks like some simple repairs will make them smokeable. Some wrapper and a little torcedor's glue should work, they will be ugly but smokeable.

I agree. A cigar with a cracked foot can be salvaged, but the pics do suggest improper storage which is waaay harder to correct. good luck, i hope you get replacements!
