Bad cigar day

Yesterday was cloudy and cool, so I drove over to the shop in my area, and bought a Partagas Spanish Rosado to smoke there. The draw was so tight that my jaw ached from pulling on it. The proprietor was kind enough to replace it for free, so I took the new one home and lit it up. Same problem. After using my Draw Poker twice on it, the draw became just barely tolerable.

Figured I'd light up an 'old faithful' Fuente 8-5-8 just to have a nice relaxing smoke that I wouldn't have to work at, and it canoed on me.....

I just said 'screw it' and sat and pouted for the rest of the day.

Sux bro. I make it a point now to NOT immediately smoke anything that I buy at the B&M. They keep the humidity around 76%, it's like trying to smoke a wet towel. I let the cigars sit for a week or so before I go near them. Don't know if that's what you're experiencing, I carried my digital hygrometer into the humidor to confirm it in my case.

You know, I think that might be the problem...these Partagas are more fully packed than my usual choices. I had one a couple of months ago, that wasn't problematic, and really liked it. I think I'll try another and use your method.

Sorry you had a bad day, I've also noticed that when I smoke a stick straight from the B&M alot have burn and draw problems that go away after some rest in the humi. Pour yourself a glass of something strong and light up another cigar!
