  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

In the first third i got the smell and taste of almond or some sort of nut. The draw was perfect. By the third puff i got an earth flavor. ("Sun is up, sky is blue, it's beautiful, and so are you. Dear Prudence…" I think of that song when it's a nice day). Right now it's very mild, not too strong and not too weak.
The color of the ash is nice and so far the construction was good. It had an on and off coffee and wood flavor, but can tell that in that first third earth was the dominant flavor.
(It's a slow smoke) Near the end of the first third had a more coffee flavor and a hint of pepper.

Starting the second third had a coffee and pepper flavor very well blended. Little by little it gains more "power", i needed to grab something to munch on to bring down the flavor a little bit… i guess a little strong for me, though i will say this, i grabbed a banana bread (home made, and just a very small slice) and it went very well with the cigar, it brought out the coffee flavor 100%.

After a small while, coffee flavor kick's in and the pepper flavor fades out.
P.S. Alfonso, if you wanna hunt rats, once your done, you can gladly do it because i saw a few rats while smoking this robusto.
Well, since the day is so nice and quiet, i can literally hear how the cigar burns every time i take a puff… Haaa, a good all crunch.
Finishing the second third i got hints of pepper, again, not so strong as before, but it's there.

And finally, last third, i got the flavor of pepper more than coffee… Oi! But then after a few more puffs comes back the flavor of coffee with a hunch of wood.
Not bad at all.

Total time: 1:40:00
Correct me of i'm wrong on something, always willing to make it a better experience. :cbig:
P.S.2. Hehehe, the second pic from bottom to top, looks like the smoke is a tongue.

Nice review and pics! Would you say that "not bad at all" is your summary? Just trying to discern an overall opinion...

I know, my "overall" is very low key, i tend to do that sort of stuff. The subtext of that text was "Not bad, i'd like to keep another one of those, but not my cup of tea.

Really great review! Nice pics too. I agree with Chuch--try the lancero when you get a chance. It has lots of nice flavor but much less power...I actually prefer the lancero most of the time, though sometimes I do like a nice punch in the head.

Soo you have a boyfriend just for hunting rats? don't the dogs take care of those critters?

Thanks for the review I've never had one of these but desperately want to some how everyone of these I've ever managed to get my hands on has severe wrapper damage.

But you must try, because that is a little distrubing!

Oh, yeah. Very nice review Meg. The Oliva V is one of my favorite. And Chuck is right, try the lancero.
