  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I need wood....

The place I used to get all my wood for my smoker went out of business recently. The owner was nice enough to email me about it so I was not left up a creek. However, he did not have anyone to recommend me too. There is a place on line out of MN that I might go with. There is no where good around here and the 2 local smoke house order theirs out of NY. They were nice enough to give me the info for those places but they want me to order way to much for my need. I have no where to store it.

Does anyone order there wood online and have a good place to get it from?

What kind of smoker do you have? Do you use logs or chunks?

I use this that I chunk up myself http://www.grillwood.com/
I get it at an albertsons grocery store.

If you want to buy chunks try BBQ galore or academy sports if you have one nearby.

I can look a little better when I can get to my laptop

I wish I could by locally too.

I have a chargrill outlaw smoker w/ side box. I use both chunks and logs. I prefer the chunks tho.

Wish I could help you out. I get all of my wood from a farm that sponsors my competition BBQ team. We lucked out when we got hooked up with them. I agree with the earlier post that said to search craigslist....I have seen quite a few ads for smoker wood on there, especially after an ice storm during the winter.

I can get at some seasoned hickory in split logs also from my dad's property. If interested, shoot me a pm. Could send priority flat rate.

What kind of smokers are you guys using where you need chunks of wood versus using splits?
Primo Oval XL now, used to use the WSM. Even in the old chargriller I had, I used lump and chunks.

I have never had one of those big fancy smokers.

Primos are awesome!! One of these days I would like to get one of those for the back patio. The WSM's are a great smoker, I have the new 22'' model and it's great for my small cooks, even use it for my chicken at competitions.
