  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I bought a 10 pack a couple of weeks ago. I like them a lot. I smoked one right off the truck and nubbed it. It tastes nothing like the Diesel that Rocky made several years ago.

I was going to say Diesel didn't Rocky make them and I remember them being not soo good. These might be decent cigars considering the blender/manufacturer.

LOL. I just got my new cigar.com magazine and its cover is graced with the Diesel. I was literally thinking to myself: "I wonder how that is..." as I logged on here and the first thing I see is this thread.

According to cigar.com's magazine it is made by the guy who makes the Man O' War Ruination. Is it nearly as strong?

This is what cigar.com has to say about them....

"One of A.J. Fernandez's most recent gems, Diesel exudes a ton of full-flavors in a medium to full-bodied format allowing for a stout, complex experience with perfect balance.

Abdel "AJ" Fernandez is the protégé of Don Alejandro Robaina, the man who is considered to be the “Godfather” of tobacco. After spending most of his life studying in Cuba under Don Alejandro, Abdel Fernandez moved to Nicaragua to begin producing his own cigars. After only 6 years, Abdel currently produces Rocky Patel’s Fusion, Indian Tabac 10th Anniversary, Padilla Habano, Sol Cubano Cuban Cabinet, Man O' War and Man O' War Ruination, all of which received rave reviews.

Only available in a stout 5"x56 belicoso."

....and here's another review about them from BeanLeafGrape

I've had 5 or 6 & plan to buy more. They are very good for the price.

AJ Fernandez blended them using the PA Broadleaf wrapper - very rich & unique tasting. He also blended the 'Winter Blend' for Rocky Patel using this same wrapper, though it was considerably stronger than the new Diesel.

They come in one size, 30 cabs for $100 msrp - great deal in my book & I'll be keeping an eye for deals as this is a CI exclusive.

Shuckins sent me a very thoughtful bomb containing one of these. I will give you guys my opinion as soon as I dip into that bomb. Didn't even know of a diesel cigar. Awesome name, but can it hold up to the legendary BOTL?

From what I understand these are both "internet exclusives" available at both CI and Cigar.com. Tinderbox. too.

Sounds like your local is buying them online and reselling them - unless they are a Tinderbox.
