No conceal and carry in WI, bummer. Which Glock would you recommend Bill? Looking just basically something for targets, just wasting ammo is all.

Yeah, what Bill said. Go for the Glock 19, it takes a 15 round clip and if you want to reduce climb you can opt for the 19C with ported barrel and slide. Standard issue for Israel's GSS.

Glock 19 is a solid performer and not crazy priced! Stife gave you some good advice there.

My competitive gun used to be a Springfield 1911A comped gun..lol Now carry either my Beretta for a 9mm, or my Sig P220 45 or HK...

I was out looking for a handgun myself yesterday. I am VERY impressed with the H&K USP's. I have been looking at these for a long time. They are very reliable. The Glocks are lighter, however, they do not have an external safety. This is important to me since I carry. Check out the H&K's, they are a bit more expensive though, the one I will pick up is about 900

You really can not go wrong with any of the options here. Really you just need to go window shopping and find which one feels best in your hands. Hold each one, check all controls (safety, mag release etc). Also make sure you like the sites. I know a few places will even let you rent different guns so you can fire a few rounds through all the options you are weighing. Good luck!

For me I would go with the Glock. Great gun, and can be had for around 400 at a military dealer in Austin!

Good call wyatt. The only thing that I did not like about the glocks was the slide release. I found them to be much more difficult to work than the H&K, but they also loosen up over time.

I can't stand the way a glock feels. Fire before you buy.

Never had trouble with a CZ & they feel real nice. So does the PX4.

If you are just looking for plinking at the range, get a 22. You can spend hours going through a $10 box of ammo.
