  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Going to see Henry Rollins tonight

I've always wanted to see him do his spoken word and tonight is the night. After the show, going out on State St. and hit a cigar bar.

Should be fun.

I saw him a few weeks ago and the show was fantastic. BUT...Take a nap...Rollins can talk. I think our show clocked in just under 3 hours. Well worth the admission price, but the next day at work I was dragging!

Enjoy!

I lucked out in that the show is on a Friday. He can definitely tell a story adding the smallest of details so you don't have to use much imagination.

I. am. so. old.

Years ago, my father sat next to HR's father on a flight, brought home a coupla "Black Flag" LP-sized records. I emphasize "LP-sized" because, apparently, they needed to be played at 45 rpm vs. 33 (um... for you young'uns: these were large vinyl discs meant to be set atop a large machine called a "record player"...).

Imagine Black Flag, but played a bit t o o s l o o o w

A few years later, HR came to my college campus, early in his "spoken word" career....

I guess it shouldn't be weird that he's still touring. I mean, I'm still breathing, right?

Have fun! I met him when I was in college backstage right before he went on... I had a little liquid courage and ended up getting my picture with him after the show, I put my arm around him when taking the pic!?! LOL Just glad he didn't punch me! LOL

i saw henry dohis spoken word about 15 years ago. loved his music before that, but after ahving seen him speak....

well, he's so much more than just some crazy guy yellin' with a guitar in the background.

the time i saw him speak, he had a book and said he was reading from his journal from a few months prior. it was AWESOME!!!!

glad to hear he's still out there.

love his movie spots too! always get a kick out of seein him show up...and Flea from red hot chili peppers too...they both show up in the craziest places! funny stuff

It was a great show. It last 5 minutes shy of 3 hours. In the beginning he talked quite a bit about politics then a good story of doing RuPaul's show. I found, towards the end of his show, his stories about visiting countries that most people wouldn't visit.
