  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Oktoberfest, its that time

Well I was disappointed to learn that Paulaner doesnt put there 'fest beer in a keg, so I decided on Hacker-Pshorr keg. I just prefer the Paulaner, any other good ones you guys been enjoying this year?

I like Shiner's Oktoberfest. Also Belles out of Illinois has a good Octoberfest. Point Octoberfest in Central Wisconsin is good as well.

I'm a fan of Sam's Octoberfest. But I've also enjoyed Magic Hat's fall offering, same with Sierra Nevada (tumbler), New Belgium (hoptober), and Real Ale's Octoberfest.

Boulevard Brewing Co out of Kansas City has Hoptober which is excellent. I'm thinking that's what I might get for my Anniversary celebration the second weekend in October. I've really grown to like it.

The Kaiser by Avery.

This is probably the most un-authentic Oktoberfest but, IMO, also probably the best I've ever tasted. It's ruined me on other really good versions.

Well, at least they are coming out with a one liter can plus mass. So you get the fitting glas to drink the beer out of.

Ive had three so far, Sam Adams, Harpoon and Smuttynose. I havent been impressed with any of them. Not sure if the beer has changed or if I have. Oktoberfest is typically my favorite style of beer.

Just picked up some DFH, Weyerbacher, magic hat and blue moon seasonals this morning. So far the DFH punkin is great and the harvest moon has been better than I thought it would be.

I have been turned off to bell's ever since a licorice tasting beer I tried. I literally had to battle with the 6 pack to get it down. Should have just dumped them/
