Hi all! While I've posted a few times here I've never formally introduced myself - my name is Braden, and I am a Canadian "cigar newbie".

I recently purchased a beautiful 30 cigar humidor, a cutter, a new lighter, and a few different types of cigars to try out over the coming days/weeks/months, and I thought I'd share my experiences here. Kind of an online journal of what I do like, what I don't like, what blows me away completely, and what I plan on re-buying.

Currently in my humidor are the following cigars:

- Te Amo World Selection Series Dominicana Blend Robusto (Natural wrapper; Mexico)
- Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial Double Robusto (Natural wrapper; Cuba)
- Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur #2 (Maduro wrapper; Honduras)
- Don Tomas Clasico Robusto (Natural wrapper; Honduras)

And a Capoeira sampler containing 2 of each of the following cigars under their brand name...

- Aluno Corona Extra (Maduro wrapper; Honduras)
- Formado Torpedo (Maduro wrapper; Honduras)
- Graduado Toro (Maduro wrapper; Honduras)
- Professor Robusto (Maduro wrapper; Honduras)

So, starting this weekend I'll begin my adventure into cigars from around the world. I've smoked a few over the past week or two (a Bolivar, a Monte Cristo and a Romeo y Julieta) and am really enjoying it.

Reviews will be accompanied by pictures and as in-depth of a write-up as I can muster.

As I decide what I do like, don't like, or absolutely love to the point of wanting to buy a box, recommendations are of course more than welcome!

Thanks everyone!!

I'll probably start with a Don Tomas either tomorrow night or Saturday.

For now, good night!

Thanks for the welcoming words everyone!

Hey Braden, Welcome! Nice to see another Canuck on the site. Where are you from?

I'm in Ottawa. However, my fiancee lives in New York City, and I'll be heading down there in three weeks, so I hope to check out some great smoke shops when I'm down there!

Welcome and have fun! This is one of the best hobbies one can have. I have been a cigar smoker for only a few months but I am up to two 100ct. humis and am loving it! Enjoy the slide down the slope.
