Speyside Scotch

Ok, I am thinking about giving my stepdad a bottle of Scotch for Christmas. He is relatively new to scotch, but has developed a taste for the speyside variety. Does anyone have a suggestion for a $40-50 bottle that would be a decent speyside scotch?

I like to keep a bottle of The Glenrothes Select Reserve. Good stuff and can be had in that price range normally.

Being a regular cognac drinker I'd have to recommend The Macallan 12 Year Old Speyside Single Malt. It's got amazing fruity and spice undertones, really smooth. I'm sure he'd enjoy it.
