between my knife, blackberry, keys, and Seecamp, my shorts are starting too fall down. Been looking at all the options, and just picked up a nice deal on a couple of nice fanny packs. I dont want the pack screaming gun, so I will put some type of rainbow patch on the pack, and let people think that I am a gay tourist.

There was a girl in college who always wore one. She was kind of butch so we all figured that was where she kept her testostererone injections. So I really can't look at those fanny packs without thinking "testoserone bag". You won't see me with one.

I know one guy who has a vest with a velcro pocket just for CC. The pocket is at the right angle for easy access. A police buddy of mine wears a blue jean jacket and keeps it in the big inside pocket flap. Another has a Derringer that fits nicely in his front pocket.

Ron - I wear shorts pretty much ALL of the time, either that or I'm wearing a business suit (rare), so, I carry literally ALL the time in shorts, specifically cargo shorts.

I'd *highly* recommend a gun belt, it helps support the load better, especially when you are wearing a holster.

Here's my two usual setups:

#1 - this is SUPER comfy and probably most covert! S&W Bodyguard .38 Special+P in my front right pocket - pockets are contoured to fit pistol (bought 'em that way, wore them had, had them tailored to be heavy-dute), speedloader in cargo pocket below it. My wallet is in my front left pocket and my cell phone is in the cargo pocket below it. Picture (also packing the Kimber here):

#2 - This is also a great setup. Kimber Compact Aluminum in a Bulman Gunleather PDL IWB at around 3-5 o'Clock with a gun belt (I think it's a Galco). Cell phone in right front pocket, wallet in left front pocket and extra mag in cargo pocket below it. Picture:

Regarding a fanny pack - wear/use what works for you. If you are not able to carry comfortably then you may not carry...and that defeats the purpose of a CHL.

I have a carry-specific fanny pack that I originally started carrying (back in '96) my Glock 17 in. I didn't have any "good" holsters then like I do now. Every now and then I'll use a fanny pack when on a long car trip, especially when I'm wearing gym shorts and a thin t-shirt. It's great that the gun is readily accessible and essentially in plain sight. I pocket carry in gym shorts around the house, but there's NO way that I'd do it while out and about...it prints big time, even with my pocket .38 revolver. That's where the fanny pack is great, for me.

Great pic. Honestly, I really dont care what the fashion police think. I just think that a properly designed CC fanny pack will serve my purposes. I do know that a some gun fanny packs really announce that you are carrying, and that i do not want. I am just going to put some different patches on the pack to make it look more "tourist" or photograpghy, electronics related

My dad has one and carries his sig .45 in it. It is one of the ones made for the pistol. Fits gun and two extra clips. Each of them have their own sown in elastic bands to hold them. He usuallu has it tucked under his shirt when wearing.he enjoys it...not my bag. I carry .40 with uncle mikes poket conceal in my front pocket.

I agree with Nosmo King that the belt is key. Wear a rigger's belt with cargo shorts and you can load your pockets and carry all kinds of weight with no problems. Plus, the belt supports IWB carry like a charm.
If you're sold on fanny packs, check out the hiking style packs from MountainSmith...I use one for day hikes and could easy pack a handgun and couple of spare mags along with knife, multitool, flashlight, etc. As well as first aid kit and a couple of power bars.
