  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

It'll be during my annual christmas pub crawl, so I'll step outside and take a look about the time the bars are closing.

One of the moon in total eclipse (or close) and one towards the end. I am new to the whole dslr world so figuring out the settings was not easy for me lol. Anyway, I am sure there are a couple better ones but these were the first ones I opened lol.

Awesome pics, Justin!! I couldn't get my wife's camera to take a decent focused pic. But, I did get a few good views with video on it.

It was amazing to watch!

Thanks Frank, I wish I had a lens with some more reach on it, that is just using a 55-250mm "kit" lens, not bad for a cheapo though. I was outside for about an hour and finally figured out what settings to use with about 3 minutes left lol.

I really wanted to see it since it has been 300+ yrs since it has happend on the winter solstice. But unfortunatly I was under a blanket of clouds that did not allow me to witness this rare event.

It was a beautiful thing definitely. GF and I watched it for a few minutes before bed. Then I lit up two candles and left a snifter of gentleman jack in offering. Here's to more smokes!

Well, probably not because of Lunar intervention but one can hope.

Great pics Justin!

If you don't mind me asking, what settings did you finally use to get those shots. I have had a Canon EOS Rebel XSI for a year or so but just haven't had the time to delve to deep or get to serious with different modes/settings. I also tried last night to get some decent pics but just never got there.
