Seen this locally. You really need to take a step back just to understand why this is necessary.

I understand the need for the permits, but as the OP said, you would think they could work something out. As is the case with most stories like this I'm sure there is information we are missing.

Agreed - hard to trust an article with a title of "City puts stop to homeless outreach"... no bias that I can detect. :scratchhe

WOW!! How does the saying go " Sometimes the the right thing to do is also the hardest" It pertains to something else, but in this case they said "And city officials say the couple most likely will not be able to obtain one." That's the hard part!! You would think people like this would be applauded. :frownno:

While I doubt that's the whole story, I would think that the homeless would be more concerned with being able to get food. The article says they've been doing it for a year so they didn't need one in all that time?

I understand the need for permits but the fact is the matter is the city only wants to give those permits to people they can shake down for money down the road. Also, as stated before we don't have the whole story, they were doing this for a year so the couple must of started doing something to warrent the attention of the city government.

Dimes to dollars someone, somewhere, complained. That's really all it takes in cases like this.
