I need to pick up some hopslam to see what all the hype is about. Yesterday though I picked up two growlers full of Troegs Nugget Nectar on my way home. Luckily I got to the brewery just as they were closing up the taps.

Nice Abyss haul! Did you pick them up in SoCal? Aside from the kegs, the bottles have been hard to come by. Apparently distribution has been a nightmare and has left a lot of bottle shop owners very unhappy.

Topher, if you don't mind, could you PM me and let me know where you picked them up?

I guess you could say I have a bit of a fondness for Founders Breakfast Stout....I'm really looking forward to the release of the Founders KBS too!

A Liga Privada No.9 and Cain F Habano both go great with it!

whole foods has 'em - at least in AZ. I just got ahold of the 2009 a few months back and whole foods had the 2010... gives me a 3 year vertical in these bad boys.

A little rum and whisky never hurt anybody! :)
A little tip on the Balvenie 15 for future purchases...

David Stewart doesn't target an age for the 15*... rather a flavor profile. Before I buy a bottle of 15, I always pull the bottle out and check the dates typed (formerly written) on the bottle. A fellow Balvenie enthusiast in Germany has a 21 year old bottle sold as Balvenie 15. That is not the norm, but I have a 17yo and at one point an 18yo bottle of Balvenie 15. Considering the price difference between their 17yo releases and the 15, it is a nice savings. Plus, who complains about a bit of extra age!

*this statement obviously doesn't negate the fact that a 15yo label must be applied to whisky at least 15yo... so even with the right flavor a 14yo whisky wouldn't end up being bottled as 15yo.

I just found this thread so let me post some p0rn from the last few months.

Lucky! This is a great single malt that has been discontinued... I regret not buying a couple bottles before it flew off the shelves forever. Maybe at auction... but I'm sure it will cost way too much there.
