I would love to take a trip down there if the ban was lifted and if the ban were lifted I would like to be one of the first sets of trips before any resorts setup shop there modernizing everything.

I've done that. Several times, actually. Of course, the boat was the USS Thorn and it was for refresher training in Guantanamo Bay in the mid-1980s...

No, no. This was years before that. The Navy used to have semi-annual training there for ships and crews - fire fighting, damage control, CBR defense, etc. Back when Red Stripe was the only beer we could get and formaldehyde was listed as one of the ingredients...

This is it for me as well. Wife already agreed that she will go on day 1 with me. I imagine by day 7 there will already be a Starbucks and Walmart open.
