I exclusively buy whole bean and grind myself - is that a feasible option? Otherwise it may just require some experimentation to see who has a grind that meets your expectations? May there are some Turkish enthusiasts on Reddit or something that would know what they are talking about because I definitely do not what it comes to Turkish Coffee... Hope you are able to finda good spot or two!Looking for a new source for Ethiopia turkish grind. I usually order 2-3 lbs from Savaya Coffee out of AZ but it’s not always available. I like Savaya because their turkish grind is pulverized just right (yirgacheffe).
Thanks maytagman. Yeah I tried old and new manual mills, electric grinder, pestle mortar, and blender grinder blades. I just cannot duplicate the cocoa powder consistency and not avoid cooking the beans via friction. I’ve considered trying a small electric flour mill but they are too expensive, plus I don’t need another kitchen appliance (wife has quite a collection of stupid sh!t she’ll never use, e.g, bread machine, couple of Ninja gadgets, heart shaped waffle iron, etc).I exclusively buy whole bean and grind myself - is that a feasible option? Yeah... I don't grind much finer than pourover so I'm not dealing with that powder consistency. I imagine that a manual grinder with the burrs that tight would be a workout lolThanks maytagman. Turned the manual mills with a drill, still not worth effort. Pro tip: holding mill between legs and forgetting about the basic laws of “torque” is a painful lesson learned.Yeah...
