• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Humidor odor issues

I've just read a TON of info regarding the compund hypochloite (where bleach comes from) and even less on Dimethyl Benzyl Ammonium Chloride, which is what's in my bacteriostat. If I were thinking of putting anything in my humidor other than my cigars I would read about it first. You're...

    Humidor odor issues

You can get some activated charcoal from the pet store, it's with the fish aquariums. It will absorb the odors but won't treat the problem. Make a simple soltion of bacteriostat (buy it where they sell humidifiers) and make it a little stronger than the directions say and use the simple solution...

    A brief Truth in Cigars

I think the original Consuegra from Cuba was the exact same concept; sell seconds from all the factories as a branded cigar.

    A brief Truth in Cigars

One thing that I find interesting is how much latitude we give cuban cigars. We can buy a box of Partagas Lusi's and (God forbid this...) it might be lackluster, but you'll buy another box eventually. If the same was said about a non-cuban cigar I think the general consensus is it will not be...

    A brief Truth in Cigars

I believe you're right on the Cuban cigar Industry and I think it was when all the factories got modernized the cigars lost a lot of unique properties and became washed out in regards to flavor. Cuba, from what I've heard, has been trying to create a strain that will create a cigar that is...

    A brief Truth in Cigars

Yeah, I was thinking of an extreme press, like Litto's Factory Press. I caught it after I posted it. I asked Dan about it too, but that was before I saw how you got the press on the La Riqueza, it's really a "box press" instead of the squeeze.

    A brief Truth in Cigars

Won't it taste different because the box pressed cigar has LESS filler in it. If it didn't, you could't smoke it after the slight box squeeze.

That's exactly what my thought was concerning the El T's existance. We, the Joe 6-Pack, have to maintain a great deal of trust when it comes to dealing with you, the Boutique Guy. We know what to expect from General, we can set our watch by the consistancy and we never have any complaints...
