BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Do all Lanceros and smaller RG sticks always burn hot?
The issue is more of a problem for smaller RG smokes, but I find ALL cigars smoke better when I smoke slower. Take your time on all cigars, they will be better that way. -

4 recitals, wow! Excellent choice of smoke for your graduation. That really blows about the deadline fiasco. The May graduations are always the best, but then again, it really doesn't matter once you are done I suppose. Congrats again, that it ALOT of work, and many hours in the practice...- tubaman

Highboy Humidor
Have you thought about how you would handle humidification? All of those drawers are solid boxes. How would you properly humidify the cigars? Seems to me that would be a major problem with that set up. I love the look of highboy's though, classic design. -

Box Storage Question
They will be fine. Yes, the varnished boxes are usually a little better made and will reduce air flow so to speak, but unless you have some vacuum seal around the box, air will still get in. I like getting varnished boxes as they I find they tend to keep the flavors sealed in a little more... -
No more aging cigars for me
The one thing that you can never replace however if you buy your own box and age them yourself to 10+ years is that you KNOW that you (hopefully) aged them in a proper environment. When you buy aged stock, you really don't have any idea what the storage conditions were like for all of those... -
SLR Regios
It is not uncommon for SLR bands to have very poor quality. Since your cigars came from different boxes, the wrapper color wouldn't bother me much. The wrapper shade is usually very consistent within the box, but the shade can vary alot between boxes. I've had SLR lonsdales with nut brown... -

I agree with Fox, the Regios are not the best of the line. I much prefer the lonsdale and serie A. The Regios are ok though. Sounds like you caught them in a sick period. Or, maybe you just don't like the SLR line Eddie. SLR's are not highly counterfeited cigars like Montes and Cohibas... -

What kind of cigar goes best with port wine?
This has been my experience. I also prefer the Tawny vs. LBV. Tawny ports stand up to the flavor of a cigar more imo. Unless you've got money to burn, the difference imo between 20 year and anything older than that is not justified. But that's me, maybe some have a more discerning palett... -
