• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    What to Buy

Depends on budget and where you are buying them. Humidor release whether Siglo humi, monte ancient humi or books have all been amazing cigars for me and well worth the once a year and price tag on them helps keep you honest

Using Boveda packs in a wine cooler?

It all depends. How is the humidity in your area? If you are somewhere kinda humid it may not work too bad if you are in very dry area they may have a tough time keeping up. Other thought is how do you recharge them when they dry out? I use them to help balance out in my cabinets and move them...

    Undercrown wrappers

Was thinking the exact same thing. Had a day last week that most of the cigars I tried to smoke blew up on me. Think we had 40% humidity outside at -35. WHen you warm that air up it doesnt gain a lot of moisture. I pulled out a Hygrometer and tried to see what indoor humidity was and once it...

What would you get with box code 2010 and 2011?

Pse's have been very good so far and haven't tasted as young as I was expecting. I have also been really enjoying the half corona's as well and they are dirt cheap at around 62 cuc's a box. Other great deals in Cuba would be the new RA EL and the upmann royal corona. All of those are cheaper...

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

What it may mean is you have made enough to know what you like and blend towards that. Like you say may not be better but maybe more towards your tastes at the moment at least.

    Troya Clasico?

If it is the old Pepin made ones they were quite good.

    Temperature question

Low? Single digits I am guessing. Stops reading at 20% and still lower then that.

    Temperature question

Well I have gone through a couple of gallons of water in my humi's the couple of weeks. We were ready 40% humidity outside at -35. When you warm that up to room temp readings just read low.

    Temperature question

I don't think it is too big of a deal. If you are at least 65% you should be fine. This last week has really shown what relative humidity is all about

    Cigar Questions

I would try not think in terms of medium to low grade cigars. If you enjoy them that is the most important part. I would tho agree with the branching out theory. What you have is pretty main stream stuff an you may or may not enjoy some of the boutique brands talked about here. As long as...

    Cigar Questions

Most of them I believe are general or altadis creations. Generally there is nothing wrong with them but wrong with them. The two exceptions would be the zino's made for davidoff in Honduras and the Perdomo Cuban parejos. Both of those are fairly cheap cigars but try them and if you enjoy them...

    Monte 2 Gran Reserva's

Retail in Alberta is going to be right around $100 a stick. Depending on how much value they were able to assign to the humi it comes in will determine Ontario pricing as this should be more there.

    Monte 2 Gran Reserva's

Well these have landed here in Canada finally and are about 30% cheaper then the Cohiba's were. Just wondering if these have landed any where else and how the pricing is looking. I will be waiting till I go to Havana to pick them up as even buying at cost in Canada it's not a great price.

What would you get with box code 2010 and 2011?

If you are going to Cuba why worry about recent date codes? Look for 03 06 and 08. Unless you are looking for stuff to age?

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

Weak? At least you are trying your hand at it. The whole reason I don't home brew is there are so many good beers out there brewing my own would interfere with trying professionally blended beers. Doing small batches till you get recipes worked out isn't a bad thing you just have to brew more...
