• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Homebrewers - Who is up for a BOTL brew?

Just realized I posted about my beer trip in the wrong homebrew thread. Sorry about that

All the stuff that's 7.5oz can be rounded to an even 8oz to make things easier.

Homebrewers - Who is up for a BOTL brew?

Finally got a chance to leave town for the first time in forever this weekend. It was an epic day comprising of 1 cigar factory and 4 brewery stops with 3 tours. Started Saturday off with a trip to El Titan de Bronze where they were working on some new El Oso and La Colemna stuff. Their house...

1200 is way too low. Your maintenance is probably around 2200 try 1800-1900 and take things slow.

Lifting weights and "calories in, calories out" carved off 20% of my body weight so we'll have to agree to disagree. I'm glad you've found what works for you though. There's a lot of ways to approach this the one you stick with is the one that works.

Humidors and the like are overrated.

Been doing this for almost 3 years now. My house is a steady 70f/62% year round and my beer closet where I keep my CCs is an even better 62f/58-60%. I still have tupperdors for singles but all my box purchases just rest as is. I have sticks that have been resting this way for a while and still...

I get a fair amount of animal fats in but whole lee sheet bro. Switch some of that out for some macadamia nuts and avocado. That's a ton of sodium too lol.

    Lancero February 2016

That nic habano really does smoke nicely by itself. And the Dom binder seems to let any wrapper go great with it. Definitely reminds you that you don't have to overcomplicate a blend.

    Adventures in home rolling

    Adventures in home rolling

Certainly true though their site does note that the samplers are "...enough tobacco to make approximately 15 to 20 - 50 x 7" cigars"

    Adventures in home rolling

Right as long as the proportions are consistent you should be able to tweak the RG and keep the blend in line. Their instructions sort of hint at 1 leaf = 1 part but I think that's just trying to keep things simple for consumers.

    Adventures in home rolling

I think the way they put them together each "part" is supposed to be a whole leaf. Not that you have to do it that way but switching it up might leave you with leftovers or short on certain parts of the blend.

My buddy was a server at MIA's first anniversary party this weekend and was generous enough to bring me back some treats. The Oud Couple is a Cigar City collab aged in Pinot noir casks and Little Friend is a 12% RIS released to celebrate their first anniversary. I don't drink as much as I used...

Homebrewers - Who is up for a BOTL brew?

Im thinking what really brings this beer together is the way the special B and high ABV work together. They really drive the dark fruit notes making it so drinkable incredibly young. Most RIS this young taste like coffee flavored rocket fuel lol.

Homebrewers - Who is up for a BOTL brew?

I couldn't help myself lol. Pours like motor oil in color and consistency. Thin head, decent retention, nice lacing. Aroma is floral, dark fruit, dark chocolate, and an almost cognac like alcohol note. Flavor follows along the same lines. Cocoa and dark fruit balanced perfectly off a subtle...

Homebrewers - Who is up for a BOTL brew?

My keg of this should be carbed by now. I set it on serving pressure and just let it chill so Ive yet to have a pint. I did take a little nip when I kegged it though and it's really tasty. Will definitely age well.

    Cigar hustler monthly subscription

I can't vouch for the monthly subscription but their service has always been good for me and IMO they put together some of the best samplers. Definitely report back with what you get!!
