  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    I know a guy who has a similar sized cooler and has 1 pound of HCM and about 1.5 pounds of KL. Works great but he doesn't use the cooling. With the cooler running, I would go more. and sorry if it looks like Chef is hijacking your thread. :)

    Yes but for that sized humi, probably cheaper to buy the larger amount and bag them, I imagine.

    It's your money so feel free to do with it as you will. Never had a problem in any humi with the HCM. In the one that I use most often, I have KL in there also that I can charge when I like.

    Nice setup. If you really want to spend the money, I personally prefer HCM beads (I like how they hold humidity and they already come bagged.) If you prefer just to spend $5 or so, there's always the kitty litter option.

    If the 2 packs are becoming drier, you have a leak. I've had small packs in some humidors for months without anything happening to them. I really can't say this enough. Sometimes, you just need to let your sticks be. I was reorganizing and I got distracted by something else and left the door...

    That's probably what Boveda says but 2 is usually plenty. I know someone who keeps a cabinet humidor with a small amount of kitty litter and 1 or 2 small bovedas in each level and it's fine.

    honestly, if you have that kind of discrepancy in a small humidor, there's something very very wrong. Also, %5 should not make it too dry on the bottom and too humid up top. Just not enough range for that to happen.

    yes, it maybe for some but there's way to many of them young people with the beards.

    one of my friends had one but it worked half the time. I like that one because it's an all in one. no need to take out bag and put it on the cart etc.
