• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    more sign of the times

6 out of 6 correct. Gotta admit, I wasn't sure on some of them. Some of those questions seem a tad bit obscure to me.

    homemade humi

He mentioned beads. Not a bad way to go, but if you can pick up some Boveda packs probably even better. They are just about the perfect solution for airtight containers.

    Cigars a newbie should try

Get in on the newbie sampler, keep looking for affordable sampler packs to try out and keep an eye on the Cigar Deals thread. There will be plenty of deals that are probably out of the bounds of what you want to be spending right now, but when there is something posted that fits your wallet...

    Tough day for the Hendy

Sorry, bro'. That's a tough one. Hang in there. She'll come around before too long and besides, something else will be along shortly to stress about. ;)

Bombed in Afghan (not the bad kind)

Damn! Who's sending M16's in their cigar bomb packages? I want to get to know THAT guy!

    Condensation issue: HELP!

You might want to separate them and wait for them to dry out, but I don't think they are ruined. Your biggest danger is them splitting.

Nah, it's got to be functional. Hey, Bob, how does the pewter LP hold up? Really digging that ash tray.

I'll have to try the furniture polish deal. And yeah, Buzz, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Just aesthetics, but still.

    Ashtrays

Anyone have any tips on keeping them looking nice? I have the worst freaking time keeping the ones I have from fading when I wash them. The ones I have are the ones with the metallic paint, if that makes sense. I had a nice Cohiba one, but now the Cohiba symbol is gone. Had the same issue with...

    Wineador Questions HELP

Plenty of folks using that exact solution. What he said. There is some disagreement on this, but my answer is no. I don't recommend it for humidors either. The risks associate with doing so are minimal, but why take any? Just put the drawers in and season them in the unit. Check out the...

    Lp52 pig live review

Sounds like possibly it needed some dry box time. You need a phone with a camera. :) Really like the review style.

15ct Tubo box of Monti Petit Edmundos from 07

Feel free to enjoy right away, but I would recommend holding on to one or two for a few years if you can, just to see what the age dies with them. As to storage, leave em as they are. If you must crack 'em to ensure they are not damaged, fine, but seal 'em right back up and leave 'en that way.

Damn Megan, it's been a while since I've seen you posting. Welcome back. We do'nt know each other, but I still remember you (hard to forget one of the only SOTLs!). I hope all is well in your life.

What's your favorite hot weather libation?

Mojito when I want something nice and cool. Really like the idea of a dirty mojito. For those who drink them, do you go "dirty" with raw sugar, brown sugar or dark rum? Or some combination of those I guess...

    Dry Boxing... When & Why

This is all you need to know. To answer more fully, you don't need to worry about dry boxing if your cigars are smoking fine. Dry boxing is a way to get overly humidified (wet) cigars to a more smokeable condition. For instance, some folks store their long-term aging smokes at a higher...
