• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Didn't Pay Your $75 - Sorry, No Fire Dept For You

From an interview on MSNBC: "Without a doubt, the best is a fire tax," Olbermann quoted Edmison as saying. "The last thing a firefighter wants to do is not be able to help when they'd like to." Other locals have been sympathetic during this trying period, Cranick told Olbermann. "Most...

Didn't Pay Your $75 - Sorry, No Fire Dept For You

I'm sorry, no offense meant with my comment, but as somebody who was a medic and an emt I view these things as the same. Police, firefighters, and healthcare workers all together. I truly and honestly believe these occupations are a calling. Once red tape becomes more important than saving...

Didn't Pay Your $75 - Sorry, No Fire Dept For You

Me too. It seems like these guys view what they do as "just a job" and they missed the bigger picture. Being a firefighter is a calling, a service. If they don't passionately care about what they do, they should just go back to waiting on tables. If they did care passionately, they would have...

Didn't Pay Your $75 - Sorry, No Fire Dept For You

Does this fire department not get funded through taxes? I don't believe it could operate on $75 per household for it's annual budget so it's got to be getting subsidized. The only way it would be even REMOTELY acceptable for them to just do nothing is if they are completely independent, not...

    Heartfelt Beads, Frequently Asked Questions

Right. When I hydrated mine the first time, after I put them in the sock I shook out the excess water (gently). Then I wrapped it in a paper towel for just a few seconds to make sure I got the excess.

    Heartfelt Beads, Frequently Asked Questions

When I first got my bead I was told to make them all clear the FIRST time, after that keep 'em around 50/50 clear/white.

Also, if you soak the beads you run the risk of them overfilling and breaking. You only want around half of the beads to be clear. I think of it this way: the clear ones put out humidity, while the white ones absorb excess humidity.

    Heartfelt Beads, Frequently Asked Questions

If you have water pooling, you're using waaaay too much water. Just a few cc's is all you need. Get yourself a 5ml syringe at Walgreens or something and use that to moisten your beads.
