  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    I don't really like any of them. Too many times (in my early smoking days) were my fingers stained from Rocky's dyed wrappers. And every Ghurka I've had tasted like roofing tar and rat feces.

    Jose Piedra Cremas are pretty legit with a cup of coffee. If you can get 'em when they are about $1.50 a stick they are great.

    Fun with Moka pots

    I'm a big fan of the Moka pot. The key to good Moka pot coffee is to pre-boil the water before you add the coffee grounds, that way the coffee isn't burned. Make sure your grind is uniform and you are using fresh coffee. And I always say pack it as much as you can.... if you have a uniform...

    I either use Cowboy from Lowes or the Publix Greenwise charcoal. The Publix stuff lasts forever and burns nice and hot.
