I went down this road a while back and this is what I ended up with from MechTech. Glock lower, I did a 19 I had laying around. Easy back and forth conversion, very easy to find mags and much cheaper mags too. You could go SBR if you wanted to, or just not use a stock and cut down the barel...

The little electro coolers that plug into your car ligher are also thermoelectric and will work well. Most do not have a thermostat, but you can get AC power adaptors and they do work.
