• I've said this before - but this is just a reminder. I'll be breaking BOTL over time in order to get it into a far better place. Just be patient if you can't reach us! We'll be back

    cigars stolen me thinks

Did they pack the cigars for you and seal the box or did you hand them a sealed box? Wow, some nerve.

    How does Tatuaje reinvent?

Pete, I think on any project clearly as important as this one requires intense... Dare I say, Severe testing. How about a pre-release non banded BOTL prototype just to make sure you did't screw this up! Seriously though, it's always great to hear you excited about a project, it ends up...

    Cigar Primer for New Smokers

I promised a friend that I’d E-mail him a cigar primer course so I’ve put down on paper my thoughts and advice to new cigar smokes. So, in no particular order, here is what I usually try to share with people starting out. It is for your review, consideration and of course...

    Cigars getting too firm

All good advice, I'd also add, if you are going to get a digital hygrometer find one that you can adjust to read accurate when you calibrate it. Also, make sure you keep fresh batteries in it, I've had a couple get way out of calibration as the batteries get drained so I replace my batteries...

    Cigars in humidor

Just for conversation, have any of you noticed a difference with any length of time? I am not one of those geneticly gifted guys that can taste very rare and detailed flavors, I pick up the major stuff and have never noticed a difference even with singles stored amix for over a decade. So...

    Greetings from Asheville, NC!!!

Welcome aboard, and a Camroon I'd add to your try list is the La Aurora Preferidos Robusto. Same blend and wrapper as the figurados but much cheaper for more smoke. You can find them on Cigarbid.com for $5 each all the time.

Douglas Hiner Gets 36 Months Probation

This reminds me that it isn't a great idea to post pictures of cigars and where or who they came from. I've seen several posts of late saying thanks so and so for and a picture. Probably not a major foul, but I would hate to attract any attention, IMO it's better to read and write between the...

Robb Report Cigar of the Year

I just want to know why the "experts" didn't have a cow when they were told they would smoke 1/4 of ten different cigars back to back and pick a winner. So what is the finish like on that?

problem with humidity in wine cooler

I have a large cabinet with all my singles and some boxes and my Vino 28 is only for box storage. One pound of 65%, stays rock solid 64-67 and sits at 68 degrees. I open it maybe once or twice a week and have to add a couple ounces of water about every other month.

It was a blind test, they didn't get to see the band, the box or the lady under the table helping them decide. Geeez I hope it was a lady!

problem with humidity in wine cooler

First off I highly respect your oppinion, you've been doing this longer than I have, but for discussion: I agree on the first part that you shouldn't be trying to raise humidity just because you are lowering your temperatures, but I don't agree with the second that 70% is always the golden...

problem with humidity in wine cooler

Temperature control is the main weapon we have to fight off bettle infestations. at 78 degrees beetles can hatch and lay waste to your stash of prized smokes. General rule is if your smokes are stored at no more than 70 degrees they are safe against eggs hatching and your only concern is...

problem with humidity in wine cooler

How do your cigars feel? Many store cigars for long aging well below 70/70 and most believe the colder you store them the dryer you should store them. If they don't act like they are drying out, you may not have any problem at all. I'm guessing if you let the temperature come up your humidity...
