1. The 'dark tobacco' you see at the foot is ligero (Nica). I would've like to have seen it rolled closer to the middle; however, 'dark tobacco' is not unusual when it comes to ligero.

What did you all think of the size (7 1/8 x 49) we went with? I've never been a big fan of 'big RG' cigars (that seem very popular today)...have always preferred the more traditional vitolas....

BOTL - Just to clarify....we began pre-booking the 2014 production of LAS CALAVERAS EL 2014 late Monday--the cigars will begin SHIPPING early May.
That said, over 75% of the total production/allotment is now spoken for. Hope that helps....

3/5King - To answer your question...I've had blends that didn't make the cut that I thought were pretty damn good--but once they're passed over, I rarely go back and smoke them. I prefer keeping my focus on quality control (existing brands) and moving forward...
