I've said this before - but this is just a reminder. I'll be breaking BOTL over time in order to get it into a far better place. Just be patient if you can't reach us! We'll be back
I would agree that there are a lot of inconsistencies for cigars from 1999-2002. But I have had some very good smokes from those years also. As for why your friend skips 2003 is interesting. I have had some stunning cigars from 2003 and seek them out depending on the factory code.
I will do one of two ways depending on how much time I have for prep. Both ways I like to brine if at a all possible.
1. Apply rub over whole chicken and do beer can chicken. Quick and easy. You just need to put a pan or foil under the chicken so it doesn't flare up from gease drippings...
Of your list, I personally would suggest the Trini RE and the Siglo six. The upmann #2 is a wonderful cigar, but not full bodied. The Lusitania is not blended as strongly as it once was, and I personally a fan of the sublimes, but that is me.
I would suggest however what a few others have...
Well, if it has to be from my current stash, I would have to say one of the Monte especiales I have from 85. But if it could be any cigar, most definitely a 1492.
