Black Label is a good smoke for sure, and that experience of fighting through the first half inch on a cigar is not that rare IMO. I've had quite a few smokes that needed to get going before they got going. Many are too bitter and harsh for my taste at first light.

I've gotten mixed reiviews on it, I've smoked two I didn't think were all that great but not bad, and a couple I thought were good (had aged a bit more, or I just liked them on that day better). I really think they released them too soon and should let them rest another year or two.
