I've said this before - but this is just a reminder. I'll be breaking BOTL over time in order to get it into a far better place. Just be patient if you can't reach us! We'll be back
Thanks for the heads up Bliss! Order placed.
The comments of the leaf by WLT usually say "aged 4 years" Then they say CV leaf is " fermented for a full year" "extended fermentation process"
I can't help but wonder how this differs from their regular leaf. Is it really fermented longer? I can...
Flip over the wrapper so it's good side down and ready to roll. Dampen with a paper towel any water off the backside.
Roll it up and put on the flag and cap... Total time about 5 minutes.
Next trim and shape the head with a pair of scissors...
Next... prepare the wrapper by wetting the granite surface and sticking down the leaf with the finish side up and unmolested. Stretch it out.Water on backside only.
Next... trim leaf and cut out the flag...
After bunching the cigar gets wrapped in heavy weight paper for a uniform cylinder. Paper is held in place by a hair clip.
Here's how it looks out of the paper...
Cut the head flush...

Not a problem. It comes out of the paper rolled in a straight cylinder. No curve or shape to the head. Then, I take my sharp pair of scissors and trim the edges and shape the head myself. I have more control of the shape by doing it this way. Comes out more uniform and every bit as good as using...
Perique yesterday and now this! I don't know which way to turn. I must admit I'm drawn to the one that's labeled "holy mother of God". That sounds like good cigar. :woot:
The easiest and most effective way to reduce veins is purchase wrapper that has smaller veins. Simple as that. Like wrapping with silk vs. canvas.
I also use paper (no longer use a mold) however, I stopped using newspaper and got some printer paper in a heavier weight and cut strips out of...
Too low on the price can give the impression that the cigar is of lesser quality. Most human logic is that a $5 cigar simply can't be in the same league as an $8-14 cigar. However, if you look at the price as it leaves the rolling table and is sold to a distributor pays import fees and who then...
Good read. I really like the assessment of the Olor tobacco.
If you got a retailers licence you could buy the tobacco direct from the distributor and probably get the tobacco cost cut in half. Less shipping cost also. That would cut the cost of the cigar in half but that's only a savings of 70...
Amen !!
Making 'stuff' is what life is all about. It keeps the hands busy and occupies the mind. I pity those who go through life and never have a creative hobby.
Correctamundo. I've always said "spend your money on leaf".
There is a pair of scissors and a capping tool over on the right side. I already had a pizza cutter. The pizza cutter (Cutco) has a very good bearing and NO wobble like cheap cutters have. Cuts straight and true.
This granite tile was...
