And eventually you'll get a feel for how much energy you put into certain parts of roast it'll make some elements come out in taste. But with a fluid bed roaster it's very hard to achieve that. Looking to get a probat soon for the garage and maybe a fire roasting barrel too come spring.

I've used a few cheapie to medium grade and both s.s. and silicone. Only issue I've had is sometimes I pushed them to far inappropriately and the probe tip was near the edge of the meat. Are you pinching the cord in a door some something? I think the next one I buy is just gonna be a fire board...
