I have had one cohiba that was young and merely tasted grassy to me.
I would compare an aged JL#1 or #2 to a young cohiba. I cant say for the older ones. I have 4 sitting that will wait for years to be smoked. I can't imagine paying those prices on a smoke that I am not convinced of...
If it has any red cedar I personally wouldn't mess with it.
It will kill your cigars. There are many site where you can buy
side table humidors for less than 500. If you need that much storage
you best protect your cigars. If you cant afford the storage then buy
less cigars. I mean...

For the long term I have read alot of the science.
It's theory but higher is probably better

I'm not really looking to roast large batches. I just want more control and slower roasting times. I only have 1-2 cups of coffee a day. That I-Roast 2 looked good. Any other opinions on it?
