I've said this before - but this is just a reminder. I'll be breaking BOTL over time in order to get it into a far better place. Just be patient if you can't reach us! We'll be back
Good, honest review....thanks for sharing.
IMHO, 09 > 06 > 03.....as I too was not blown away at all by the 2003. I found it to be mild and lacking in the flavor arena.
I'd suggest giving the 09 a go, or the 06 as bigbwalls suggested.
Of course, I know many here prefer the 03 over all...
Here's the key question, at least for me it was anyway......do you like peaty Scotch...or don't you?
I've only been really drinking Scotch for 6 months or so, so I'm an admitted amateur. If you like really potent "smoky", almost campfire'esque flavors in Scotch, which I don't think is...
Just had my first Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA a few nights ago. Very, very good stuff. Haven't tried the 60 ..... and I believe there is a 120 min IPA as well that's rated very high at beeradvocate.com.
My current mission:

Even living on the West Coast (albeit not in...
True that ciggy!!
And it didn't hurt that they were 40% off retail!!! (shameless plug for Gabby's shop perhaps, but a great opportunity for others to pick these up for a try at a great price if you haven't yet )
Got my bags today as well Wayne....
But hey......I counted em all....and I was short one.....WTF!?!.........HA!! j/k of course.
Thanks for the bags bro!!...these will come in handy ;).
I had no idea you were a forum member Gabby....
I suppose I could've just called you and asked, but this way was much more fun!!...LOL!
Thanks again for the cigars my friend.......not to mention the help in identifying the amount of age on em'!! :tiphat:
Yeah, I thought about that too........but it seems a little faux paux when doin' a cigar review don't you think??....especially when you have a "before" picture.
I dunno......not a big deal if I don't know the exact time frame whatsoever. Just knowing they were pre-ribbon I guess in and of...
Pretty easy Nate......Oro, or gold in spanish, has gold trim as the band border with no ribbon at the foot...
The Platino, or platinum in spanish, has a silver trim band border, and a silver (platinum) ribbon at the foot.
Yup...that's how I remember em' too. I suppose if any shop was going to get a "1st run" of these, Florida would be the spot....which is where these came from.
This review here shows the stick sans cello & ribbon and is from March 09....(who knows how long he had it though or where it came...
Looks like a pretty awesome time Patrick!
I gather that Stogie Guys' gig has paid some nice dividends for you.....simply by this here trip alone!....LOL!
Very cool bro....thanks for sharing!
How many of those 107's did you burn through??....thoughts on em'??
well.....they were'nt "sealed" boxes Larry, but they were both full boxes. I can't imagine the B&M taking the ribbon of BOTH boxes if that's the way they came.
Perhaps Danilo might know, seeing as he was the one that gave me the referral.
Thanks again Danilo, much appreciated bro!
I've seen this cigar discussed....and often times, been one of the ones singing its praises, but didn't see a thread title of it's own anywhere.
Curious if anyone knows when they started coming w/ cello and the platinum ribbon at the foot??
Just scored a box of Chivas and Finos that...
I don't know what it is....never cared for either the #5....or the #4. Give me a power ranger 10 times out of 10 over both of those and i'm one happy SOB!
Great review though...thanks for sharing!
This couldn't be more true. Sadly, I'm an admitted victim of this. Every time I tell myself that I'm getting tired of all the LE's....and I'm going to pass.....I end up looking for them.
Call it competitive spirit, call it the "thrill of the hunt".........but mostly......I call it "a...
x 2.
It's not like this is a "bride of Frankenstein" cigar being released at Halloween. And I wouldn't exactly call the DPG Firecracker a cigar phenomenon outside of maybe the cigar forums. I just got my first one a few weeks back. I don't know what all the "i might not release now" thing is...
Only so much you can do with a cigar Justin....LOL!
Although.....not sure anyone had/has anything similar to the 50/50 prior to being released, did they?......or if they did, I don't know about it.
I've found these (especially the Platino) a very nice change of pace from all the other...
