  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Cedar experiments........

    I have noticed on some sticks brothers have bombed me...... I kept smelling the stick because the cedar aroma was so nice- much nicer than the cedar aroma in my humidor! Sadly, the cedar in my humidor isn't aromatic enough to substantially affect my sticks.

    That is crazy!!! Did not know that you could at all..... but you're right, it seems risky considering if you list on there you have to get around the rules with your descriptions. Also, knowing how many unscrupulous sellers are on there, I would be wary that the sticks would not have been kept...

    I really like the Morning Star a lot. Only downside is I've noticed problems with consistency of flavor. Other than that, they are a tasty smoke.

    I rarely buy samplers unless I know the brands or have had them before. Fell into that trap several years ago when I was a newbie....... Bought some really garbage sticks like Victor Shitclair, etc. Now I make my own sampler by buying fivers and researching blends of specific sticks before...

    Gentlemen Jack + a timeless classic JDN Antaño. Frustrating day at work has me reaching for hard stuff along with one of my all time favorite sticks........ Straight Gentlemen Jack pairs so well with this stick...... As my Sister would say....... "That's sippin' whiskey John!" lol.

    Natural or Maduro

    Go dark or go home is my motto. I always prefer a Maduro wrapper over Natural if it is available. The flavor is typically more bold, rich and pronounced, and that combined with the subtle sweetness of Maduro leaves really suits my taste.

    If you want cheap, CI has their Humicare blue beads and they work, at least for me. I can't vouch for everyone, and a couple people I have talked to think they are garbage, but 1 container has kept my humidor at 70/70 for over 5 months.
