• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    New cigar lounge I found...

My home B&M will always be Milan Tobacconists, and there is still one BOTL that I have not had the chance to meet there, but hoping one day it will work out. My local also keeps hours that I can not make normally. http://www.milantobacco.com/ About a month ago I found another great cigar...

    My new blog part 2

I always enjoy your reviews, although I can not really think of a name. You have a great idea, and I add the following: http://www.nokenews.com/ A good friend of mine has a great concept, however work took over and he can not update it anymore, might give you some more ideas though.

    My Frank had a Face!

I think we are all just that sick, and we read into cigars way to much, this is a good thing! I am seeing the frank face, a bit cartoonish looking face, but it is in there. Pretty cool post to start my Halloween!

    Cigar related pumpkin carving

Need an updated picture. Last weekend we had our annual carving, Sesame Street for us, but the friends that came over carved a good Tinkerbell and a cool skull (Viaje reference perhaps?) We added Ernie later, not in the pic.

    Blame your Palate....

Licenciados, the #4 was my first cigar, shortly after the Churchill, great cigars back in 1996, I revisit them regularly and appreciate a mild cigar from time to time even now, no revisit has been a pleasure, construction is good, but the burn and flavor are very bad these days, have been for years.

    Benefit of the doubt

Never do. I have seen some cigars I have smoked become sought after, and I have overlooked just as many sought after cigars. I will give it that reading member reviews will influence me to purchase a cigar I might not have tried yet, even in some cases look for that cigar, yet when I smoke...

    Thought about a pipe, but...

Pack the bowl of the pipe with your finger, it should feel, "spongy." Introduce the flame and gently pull the smoke in, using a tamper, tamp lightly and introduce the flame once more, now you have the proper pipe light. Sip the pipe and enjoy. It has been years since I enjoyed a pipe, however...

    More Humidor Help!!! =(

My largest humidor does not have a great seal. When I first went to beads I had a hard time fighting RH, I ended up sticking with the original element along with the beads. The room stays around 70 degrees year round and has no direct climate control, open door from a large window unit in the...

Ever dropped one? What do you do to fix it?

Dude, I work in trucking. I live it 24/7. I take care of about 150 power units and about 400 trailers. You need to get a lounge chair and kick back outside the truck to enjoy a cigar, just saying.

    When do you smoke?

I can not do the poll, some days it is a morning cigar, some days a lunchtime smoke, some days an evening smoke. I enjoy cigars at different times. For years, since 1999 I have what I call Maduro Sundays, I smoke a maduro cigar, not every week, but most weeks after breakfast and coffee on Sunday...

Good brands with bad cigars? Bad brands with good ones?

Never had a Gurkha, not to say I would not try one, just do not see them in my normal circle of cigars. I have a Man of War cigar in the humidor, I have heard good things about them and just have not had the chance to smoke it yet. Not holding out on brand, just have not had the chance yet. I...

What flavor characteristics do you most enjoy?

I worry about the flavor of nuts...something unsettling about that one. :sadpace:
