• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Cigarillos and cheroots

Cuchillos Cubanos 32 and Padron Cotrticos for the cigarillos. Although if you smoke those within 15 minutes, they'll definitely get too hot and bitter. Those are maybe a 25 - 30 minute smoke (for me at least, since I smoke slowly).

    Which current cigar

Tatuaje Havana Cazadores Illusione mk, 4/2g, hl maduro And I've been craving a Boli CE (sadly, though, I've got no more in my stash).

    Tatuaje Culebra

Plenty of regular stuff being released this year––the Black PL, the La Casita Criolla, the Fausto, etc. And in another post Pete said he was trying to focus this year on maintaining the quality of his current lines, which is always nice to hear. I've also got no problems with his...

    Illusione with most pepper/spice ?

Illusione will actually be releasing the MKUltras again sometime this year. I'm not sure if it's going to be a semi-regular line (like the ~hl~ Maduros and Candelas) or another one-time only batch, but they will be purchasable again. As for me, fresh ~888s~ and fresh ~MJ12s~ have the most...

    T52 FP Construction Problems

Haven't had any of the pigs, but every T52 toro and robo I've smoked has had some of the head unravel after clipping, similar to what your pigs look like. Having said that, they smoked just fine after I tore off the strip that was hanging from the head....

    Epernay by Illusione

Having blended the Epernay for a European palate, Dion decided to package it the way Europeans tend to purchase their sticks, i.e. in cabinets. At least that's what a trustworthy source told me at my B&M when I asked the same question....

    Brand Cigar Club - Glendale

Been there once. Didn't actually smoke anything or have drink, though--just curious. Their humi's not that big, but adequate for the size of the place. A little smaller than Casa Fuente's. It's a good area, though--plenty of shopping and restaurants that I'm sure can attract a crowd (for the...

Your favorite cigar, All things considered

At the moment, all things considered: NC: Tat Havana Cazadores CC: Boli CE Neither are incredibly expensive, and both are readily available (at least online)

    Illusione 68 vs 88?

The ~88~ is good, though probably my least favorite of the Illusione OD sticks. Personally, I much prefer the Bombone.

    Sultan Signature Review Thread

My final assessment? Cigar (A) wins. I liked (B) as well, but again, it had a hint of sweetness that overwhelmed some of the other flavors and, while balancing out the profile's earthiness, didn't draw me in the way cigar (A) did. I appreciated how smooth and round cigar (B) tasted, but I...

    Sultan Signature Review Thread

No pics––smoked it at night, and camera takes poor flash photos. You guys know what the cigar looks like anyway. . . . The stick started off at the first few centimeters with a slightly bitter espresso and dark chocolate and a harshness reminiscent of the way some Padrón Thousand...

. . . or if the cigars themselves came in silver tubos that opened at the tapered end, like a bullet and its casing.

    Sultan Signature Review Thread

Same kind of oily, dark, peppery wrapper as cigar (A) . . . whereas the latter started off with heavy doses of chocolate, espresso, and pepper, however, cigar (B) begins with a more toothsome and earthier profile, like eating semi-sweet chocolate with peanuts while inhaling a fistful of mud, the...

    Sultan Signature Review Thread

Nice, spicy smell on the wrapper of Signature stick (A), very oily and iridescent in the sun . . . the stick starting off with espresso and dark chocolate, a hint of black pepper on the finish, exploding after a few centimeters with a spice reminiscent of the kind I've come to associate...
