BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What do you do with your cigar boxes?
I have one that I cut foam to fit and made a watch display case but generally they're used for nothing. I want to turn one into a clock but want something that looks really elegant like a Behike box. -
How do you age your cigars? Don't you just want to smoke them?
It really is amazing how you start and you're like howTF do all these guys have cigars that are 5-6 or more years old? How can they just let those sit there for that long...then as time goes on, you're like oh maybe i should revisit such and such...and it's been aged 5 years. -

Thoughts on B&M's that charge over MSRP
A small shop has to make more per cigar because of the volume they sell at plus their overhead. It's a lot cheaper to have a warehouse humidor than to have a well-presented walk-in designed for customers. Plus, to have a successful shop you have to have a good location, that costs money...a... -

Getting love from Sports Illustrated
I can see this as a way of stirring things up, I never hear anyone talk about SI...other than a couple of mentions about the swimsuit catalog every year. By the way, speaking of sports and cigars...both the Tampa Bay Rays and Lightning have cigar lounges in their venues. :D -
Brand new cohiba maduros!
They get a bad rep from the "I only smoke Habanos" guys but they are darn tasty...they just don't really taste like a Habano. These on the other hand look like dried dog turds with a band on them. -

Sick humidor?
I think you'll be good if you can let them rest for a while, it's a lot harder to get humidity out of cigars than to get it into cigars. I'm hoping that's your issue because it would be a shame to lose the cigars. -

Sick humidor?
That is common for sick cigars, in my experience. I believe the ammonia leaves the foot first and makes it way toward leaving the cap last, think about the airflow...2nd third gets less air exchanged than the foot because the cap is closed, it's a one-way street -

A cooler wouldn't be airtight, I've never seen one that is airtight...but it's probably more air tight than the average humidor. Tupperware and glass jars are the only air tight devices to store cigars that I know of. It's still a good idea to use humi beads because adding cigars(which almost...
