• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Your top 10 bands/artists from any genre

Not sure how much age has to do with it. I'm 37 and haven't heard of the majority of these, either. I thought maybe these guys were much younger than me! Here's my list, in no particular order, and many are subject to change: *1. Pink Floyd *2. Alice In Chains *3. Nirvana 4. Pearl Jam 5. Kid...

    Cigar misconceptions

Sheesh, I've never even noticed the accent. Guilty of pronouncing in par-TA-gahs. Then again, since 99% of my cigar-related interaction is through here and other print, I'm sure I'm guilty of many other mispronunciations. Case-in-point- Pepin is still Pep-in to me, for the same reason as Bdrupe.

    Humidor problems

If you don't want to buy more cigars, you can put an empty box or slabs of spanish cedar in your humi to fill in the gaps

Wrapper comparisons - good test case is Tat Cojonu 2012

I agree w/ CMac. For me, the reserva & capoera (sp?) Were like night and day.

Wineador Humidification: HeartFelt or HCM(Shilala) Beads

I have no experience with HCM, but I can say Heartfelt don't suck at rebound. I've heard HCM are faster, though. I've found by using more HF beads than I need I have no problems at all with that. Also, I've only been using my beads for 3 yrs, but I haven't read anything about them wearing out...

    New 7 Deadly Sins Sampler

Yes, the artist's name was Erte. However, the images are not designed for the cigars, as he died years before they were made, and created the lithographs years before that.

    New 7 Deadly Sins Sampler

Here's the thread: http://www.botl.org/community/forums/showthread.php/62185-Found-some-cigars-that-don-t-even-seem-to-EXIST?highlight=exist I actually want to get these some day, just for the packaging!

    New 7 Deadly Sins Sampler

Someone posted a thread about these a few months ago, he was asking what they were. I don't remember who it was, but the thread was titled something like "I found some cigars that don't even seem to exist"

    Small Coolidor

That would help. Or, switching to active humidification.

What movie are you watching or watched?

I loved Tucker & Dale vs Evil! Watched it with my BIL a while back, but I will definitely be watching it again.

At what point did you believe that you went from a newbie to a smoker of experience

What if the employee at the B&M sounds like a douche? You've seen the selection I have available to me, and if it isn't on the shelves there, they haven't heard of 'em.

What movie are you watching or watched?

Watched Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter and Cabin in the Woods this week: both really good movies. I was a little disappointed at the predictable ending to CITW, since everything I read said there was a surprise twist. But my favorite line: "Am I on speakerphone??" LOL

Choose one cigar for rest of life

"Pretentious" may not have been the word I'd choose, but IMO Eric's sentiment is spot on. I've been slowly transitioning my thought process when I choose a cigar. I used to quite often pick a yardgar when I may be interrupted or have some distraction, but now I'm trying more and more to just...

    Plastic Wrapper

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!! Ok, I just had to get that out. As for your question, there is no right or wrong answer. Some people prefer to take the cellophane off, as they think it looks better and speeds aging. Some people prefer to leave the cello on to protect the cigars and provide...

Choose one cigar for rest of life

One cigar for the rest of my life? I don't know what blend I'd choose, but it would sure have to be HUGE to last the rest of my life!

Come to Eau Claire and hang out with me some time. My lack of knowledge can make even the newest smoker feel smart. :)
