• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What would you get with box code 2010 and 2011?

I would recommend VR's with a date code of '11. Have had Famosos and now have a box of Unicos that are fantastic! Also Hoyo EE's from '10 are really good and spicey in my opinion. There are certainly cigars that need age; like my Sig VI's that are not ready yet, and they are early '11. I have...

    Today's Smoke (2004-2022 Archive)

Carlos Torano Vault Torpedo. Good cigar. Would recommend. Next time I won't try to drink a bottle of wine with one cigar so that I can get a better taste description :squinteye

What do you do and what else do you do?

I really need to read all the damned forum threads....musta missed this one somehow. 31. Married. 2 boys. Live: somewhere north Heating/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration tech (fancy word for tradesman). I work on anything that heats, cools, or moves air. Been doing that since 2000. Love the...

Some cigars remind you of why you first started into the cigar world...

Had the privilege of being gifted a Corona Gorda, and loved it. I would have a hard time paying so much for the thing, but I would say it was worth it. Very well aged, even though it was out of a newer batch. Now just to preface this; I had no knowledge of the price behind these cigars. I knew...

    Posting while intoxicated!

I might sound like a snob....but I don't care; bottle of Malbec and a Torano Vault is about my limit right now. Good night BOTL'ers ~

how do you dress for cold weather?

I live in the same city, and yeah it was cold this week. It is funny how 30 F last week felt cold, until this week. Today was like Gibble said, it felt balmy with the sun at full force heh. I work outside a lot as well and can't get away from being in the cold as it's my job to get heat back to...

    Burn correction techniques?

I very rarely correct uneven burns. As long as the stick is smoking well, I leave it alone and wait to see. I have been paying attention to stuff like this in the last year just to see what works best for myself, and I have found that a lot of sticks seem to want to re-establish themselves into...

    Need New Desktop

You need to decide whether you want something useful for EVERYTHING, or good for farting around on the net. Every single game they come out with now requires a decent graphics card, which kicks that price up automatically. I would recommend the AMD 570 as it has the best price/ability ratio...

    New Oliva V Sizes

You guys are making me jealous, I haven't had one before, but love the Belicoso and Torpedo. Time to see if Atlantic has em.

    Expensive Cigars

This may sound stupid, but I paid $35 for a T52 Toro up here, as that is what they sell for in shops with the great taxes...and I would do it again for that same great experience. I love those sticks. I would buy them online as they are much more affordable, but everything is expensive when you...

    dogwatch radio

I know others have noticed a bit of a change in Bob as well, it is a good thing Dale is so jovial. I still like the podcast, did notice the increase in commercials, and wondered what was up with that. I know you need a decent amount of bandwidth to keep things running smooth, which costs money...

    Favorite marca?

That is a hard one. As most of us CC guys know, aged is better, so if you are asking over all with/without age my CURRENT favorite is definitely Vegas Robaina. I have some great love for H Upmanns Corona Major, Mag 46 and 50, but right now that stuff coming sealed in VR boxes is like my crack-fix.

    Portable Speakers

I have the second one on your photo list. It actually is quite loud considering that it is basically the size of a large tweeter. Sounds decent, but don't expect audiophile quality of course. We actually did have one cranked all the way up playing Johnny Cash on the golf course at a tournament...

    Some cigars are just epic.

I have not had any EL's, so my experience with those types of sticks is ... well... very limited :disappoin What I can say from the regular lines is the VR Famosos from '06 are by far the best smoke I have had to date. I wish I could find more.

    Monte Pascoal Petit Robusto

Sorry to hear that you didn't like that stick. I am very fond of the Minuto, it has tons of great flavor, but never had that Short Robusto.

Suckling 2011 Cigar of the Year

Just picked up a few ... we will see if they are worth keeping around heh. Hopefully they age as well as the VR's I have been mowing through
