• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Consistent 70% Humidity is Impossible

You can treat PG and distilled water like they are the same thing. PG just costs more! TYLER

    New Colorado Enthusiast

Welcome to BOTL! I go to UNC, but I'll be back down in the Springs next week for spring break. Maybe meet up at Stag or 15C? TYLER

    Consistent 70% Humidity is Impossible

Is it a Xikar jar? Xikar makes the PG solution, so of course they're going to tell you to buy/use it. Distilled water works just fine. PG is a gimmick! Just make sure to use distilled water and not tap water. TYLER

    Hello to everyone from Denver

Cool! And I don't know what the status is on the one in Evans -- I know Chef was working on it for a while, but I think it kinda fizzled out. Thursday afternoons work best for Manor trips - I've got work on tuesday, friday, and saturday at Edward's. By the way, you should check out Edward's...

Who likes mild and full cigars?

The other day I followed up an Opus A with a Royal Jamaica! So yeah, I appreciate cigars that are mild and cigars that are full, as long as they are good cigars! TYLER

    Absinthe

Now that I think about it, I believe I might still have some Deva 50 back home. I'll be down there for a couple days during spring break next week, and if you want I can send you a little sample. Let me know! Deva is used widely in absinthe bars, and is a decent Spanish absinthe. TYLER

    Absinthe

Deva is the standard over in Barcelona. It's kind of like the Jack of absinthes. Of the ones I've tried, Mary Mayans 70% was the best. Spanish absinthes are very good, as are the French ones. Czech is ok, but they produce a lot of junk as well. Are you buying from the U.S. or overseas? As...

    Simple Salmon Recipe

Awesome recipe, Ron! I'm trying it out right now! I went a little overkill on the olive oil, butter, and salsa, but it always seems better that way! I'll let you know how it is! TYLER

Colorado (and Mexico) FISHING HERFS - The Angler Strikes Back

I'm definitely up for a Colorado trip, Brad! In fact, I can go pretty much whenever, cause I'm not taking summer courses this year. I'll have to see about the Mexico trip. I'd love to go down there! TYLER

    Woan

Wade, Fuente just re-did their ordering system. Now, instead of us retailers receiving and paying for whatever Fuente decides we should have, we can actually order specific boxes!!! No more Hemingways with boxes of Curly Heads for packing material!!!!! Seriously tho, Fuente's ordering system...

    The beginning of the end?

I was under the impression that he is just sitting waiting for Cuba to open up. I thought I read somewhere that that's why he's been scooping up old Cuban brand names like El Triunfador and maybe La Riqueza and stuff. Then when the embargo lifts, he'll hold the rights to the names of older...

    B&M employee

Congrats Adam! I work about 25 hours a week at my "local" (like 35 mins. away!) B&M, and I honestly couldn't imagine a better job. It's pretty easy to run up a tab at the place, tho! If you can, try and work during events and such. TONS of free shirts, cigars, lighters, food, etc.! Cigar...
