• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Thread for OE 2014 Pics and Updates

well, f#@k, there goes my quiet... love ya, dave. o) and, first impression, this place really is what you'd get if willy wonka wanted to go into cigars. combined latin, urban, and just straight out whimsy. hospitality is way the shit better, though, and these people have done everything to...

main common/ smoke lounge, super comfy. right now a bit off, as this place needs people in it, but until the other yahoos rouse, it's just y'all and myself. there is a display room with basically most everything they have made, but until I find the right lights, you'll have to trust me that...

couple few shots of the grounds and common areas: big f#@king tagged up wall in the entry courtyard is more impressive in real life. weird and funky and beautiful and totally fits this place. great strolling paths and porches, and a very comfortable latin villa vibe. the pool...

so, while i'm digging for a cup of coffee: 6AM local or there abouts, rocking a JdN antaño for breakfast, and strolling the grounds. this is some crap pics of some VERY pretty countryside, taken from the porches here. seriously, i can see why people would fall in love with this place.

    Today's Smoke (2004-2022 Archive)

burned this tonight while going over some details, and washing concert mud out of some clothes. with thanks to PSJC, IIRC: guys who dig a clean and flavorful medium to medium minus would really dig these: 4 kicks, CyB, and elT core line, maybe. and you were right, jim, wee little bastard...

    Wood ?

hey, no harm no foul. for about $30-ish, i am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN someone has bought these for pot. and, there may have been someone selling a brog co-packed with screens. but, having bought from them directly from their amazon.com store, that wasn't my experience. also, kinda partial to...

    Chillin' moose by Foundry

i think this may be their entry into the "rothschild/gigante from illusione"/ "tatoo" from tatuaje/ "big payback" from room101/ padilla cava trend: give a lot in standard sizing for a decent price. this trend comes up every couple few years, and there are some decent offerings this time around...

How would you dedicate these pipes?

my opinion is, find out what works in YOUR pipes. every briar is a little different, as is every smoker. start with VA, then Va base (VaBur, VaPer, etc.), then go towards big LAT, and then aro. two or three smokes does not a ghost make. listen to what the pipe tells you, and if it isn't...

    Wood ?

i have two brog pear woods, and they smoke most any style of tobacco well. super huge but still light. and i, personally, have NEVER seen them come with a pot screen. both pass a cleaner with a little work, but usually smoke dry enough that it isn't needed during a smoke. i REALLY like the...

    Drew Estate Pipes?

FWIW i have held one in my hands and they are PRETTY. like, truly solid engineering. ... and also waaaay to rich for my blood, true. but they did a LOT of things right (maybe too much, in all honesty), like every feature is amazingly well thought out. which is what i would expect from a...

9/11: Smoke a cigar with me in remembrance/appreciation

the smoke is easy going, with a deep core of strength, and a purity of character, and i cannot think of a better tribute to the people who keep us safe, at home or abroad, or to my homeland.

Your latest pipe/pipe tobacco purchase thread....

hey, look at it like this: it's hella easy to store for LONG term, cheap even for the best stuff, and if do you hit the magic threshold of the "the completed cellar", you can stay off the bidding sites and five pack samplers for decent burners and just pick up exactly the cigars you really want...

    What's in your bowl today

yeah, wasn't certain if it was stem to briar, or stem to metal, that made the "army mount" work. and thanks! much as i wanted to stay away, there's too much gaelic ancestry in me not to be drawn to peteys. o)
