• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    What's in your bowl today

... yeah, still need another pass on that key largo... but this morning my first try of C&D exhausted rooster (courtesy whtwtrman) in a recently reclaimed DrG, before sun up this morning: VaBurPer, and angry in all the right ways, this one hit me well, dave (pretty stout to boot!), and...

The Official Pipe and Tobacco Deals Thread

much as i love the OTC raiding going on, this bears repeating: if i hadn't well exceeded the stash budget already, i would have a couple more coming in off this sale.

    What's in your bowl today

instead of my usual fastidious swab of the bowl with a couple few pipe cleaners, just cover the bowl opening with your thumb and shake. afterwards, swab out ONLY the stem to draft hole. the ash stays in and adheres to the sides of the chamber. i am one who usually smokes rather slow and cool...

    What's in your bowl today

i dig this reclaimed medico, a distressed natural look, but it DOES NOT want but to smoke hot and damp. so, just putting a pack or two of CH through it, and doing the bowl shake, see if i can jump start a cake formation and force the thing to submit that way. may sound stupid, but my peterson...

    Today's Smoke (2004-2022 Archive)

spent the last two hours reorganizing my garage with this little beauty: no idea which (viaje gives me headaches trying to track) but it was damn decent, and a great fit for right now. with thanks to regener8r from about a year ago.

    Aging Jericho hill?

i usually don't put the effort into a regular production stick, especially one that smokes well from the start. that said, i wind up with boxes of fave's that get buried for a year or two just because i haven't gotten to them. that said, i feel the blend is there, and a BUNCH of people find...

    Smoking a warm cigar

yeah, kinda like a good frozen dessert, where you just lose it at some point and DEVOUR al, the rest, even knowing you're going to get a bad case of brain freezies? or really spicy food, where the only releif is eating more, faster? patience and restraint in pacing, to get the most out of the...

    Today's Smoke (2004-2022 Archive)

i find it cool as hell, as well as more than a little fitting, that PJ did a limited for the kids at G.W.A.R. what surprises me is how i hadn't heard boo about this release until now! also, and it's up to you, but a review of these wouldn't hurt... o)

    Today's Smoke (2004-2022 Archive)

actually been a few since I got to a cigar, so figured i would pull a decent one: monte edmundo (i think? 5.25x52, by eye), with major thanks. two hours of creamy and sweet over a surprising ammount of power. so damn good, and a perfect fit for the mood. o)

? re: age of boxes bought online

partagas. got it. the actual marca (brand) was the missing info. IMO the NC partagas has been flagging for years, sales wise. dependent on which line you were looking at, some could be older than others. but, honestly, WORST case scenario, you are talking about old yellow box (original NC...

Ramon Allones Specially Selected VS Cohiba Robusto

a lot of people consider cohiba to need years to reach their potential, and the RASS seems (to many) ready to go ROTT. couple that with the significant price differential, and it is easy to see why your local os selling piles of RASS to each CoRo... IMO you need both in your life. in a...

? re: age of boxes bought online

FWIW NC cigars usually "age out" depending on marca, and palate. i have had old leon jiminez (like over fifteen years) that were f#@king FABULOUS! old ass fuente and padron the same. and have had mac's that aged out after eight years. usually stronger cigars fare better, 9 times out of ten...
