BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Lancero Fad?
i think the "fad" at play is manufacturers seeing some lances finally selling, and trying to get a peice of the sales without considering if a lance will work for them. not every blend works in a lance (for me), and not every manufacturer can make one well. if AB, general, or altadis puts out...- javajunkie

Couple restores I did tonight.
mostly right. overnight bath in the solution should loosen anything built up in the airway, AND help to sterilize. alcohol couldn't hurt afterwards. you should rinse it thoroughly after, then go at it with the cleaners (or shank brushes if you have any). mind you, this WILL tank the finish...- javajunkie

OXYclean. powdered form. easiest and best way to de-gunk stems. soak them overnight before you do much else, or you're going to waste a LOT of cleaners on the airway. i have one pipe, love it now but i thought it would always taste like dead guy's cherry aro, you should have seen the mess...- javajunkie

yeah, stonehaven was, to me, about the subtlety and the balance. it isn't all fireworks and explosions, and you can miss shit if you are distracted (like with a ghosted pipe). mayhap a meer next time? or just buy a new cob. o)- javajunkie
