• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Do you pair a cigar with an event?

i have had occasions and holidays where the best fit was a regular production shared with good company, and normal days where i just REALLY wanted to burn something precious. it's more about the moment than the occasion. if you make the time, and are receptive to the experience, a cigar can...

Pipe story and other do's and don't s

while i wouldn't let it bake, i beleive most pipe tobacco, even the very "natural" stuff, is cased in some way as part of the curing and processing procedure. casing is soaking the leaf in a solution (sometimes with a flavoring or aromatic, but most times with a sugar), to make it work in it's...

Sutliff Molto Dolce - PToM, July 2014 (Pipe Tobacco of the Month)

it can smoke damp, so i recommend packing loose and adjusting as you go with the tamper. also, some may want to use some drying time. and, a warning; this stuff WILL make you want chocolate, or baked dessert goods.

    Hybrids, will they catch on?

everyone forced off the island has had to innovate fot 50 years, using soil types, curing methods, and tobacco strains they never would have dreamed of prior, out of necessity. i don't think the cuban puro would ever go to the wayside, but it may finally put weight on them to maintain quality...
