• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Which Ones?

desert island trope, eh? o) assuming an arbitrarily large supply, fuente magR44, tat 7th reserva, illusione MKultra, and quesada espana corona. that should keep me out of trouble in any setting. EDIT: holy crap, i forgot my anejo46!!! this is why i always pack two days in advance, i...

What Arturo Fuente Hemingway is your favorite?

tie between the SSmad and the signature (cameroon). the SSmad is habit forming, but the sig was THE cigar that got me, and always has a place in my heart.

    What's in your bowl today

today's work snack, some DE heirloom cherry in a basket prince: it's not going to be a go to, but the DE cherry was worth the try, and something i will be going back to again. cherry enough to notice, aroma and palate, but tobacco-forward enough to feel honest. thanks for the...

Is the Anejo Shark worth the extra $$$

it's preference. i usually go for a 46 or 50, fits my aesthetic and my time constraints. i usually bomb mine out, as they make people's day. that said, i have had times where even an anejo hasn't quite hit the spot as it were, but whenever i burn a gifted sharkie, it always seems to be magic...

    What's in your bowl today

damn amazing. it is smallish, but perfect for a flake. burns dry and clean, passes a cleaner, has a slight tendency to get hot, but the texture on the "brushed" finish helps, and also, i smoke flakes in it. virginia base doesn't always want to play nice. the finish feels great in the hand...

    Anejo 46

it may be a wet pack thing, or a factor of the barrel fermentation of the anejo wrapper. not truly sure, but it's a well known thing with anejo.

    Anejo 46

yes, pull the cedar! re-cello or leave them natural, your call, but the cedar needs to go. IMO it is really an issue with the anejo, and not any other cedar-dressed smoke per se.

Let's see what the brothers look like!

know that both jojo and i are NOT photo people. like one or two a year that don't feature our hands in front of faces, or the tops of our heads. that said, this is me after hiding halloween in the garage and taking christmas upstairs. and a bowl of royal yacht in my zavvos, FWIW: #nomakeup...

not better, different. i'm only half down as of now, and this is my first. i will throw up some more info as it comes to me. there is some don carlos wood, a food amount of pepper, and a wee suggestion of "that raisin note" that might come out in time. it's a fuente, and it's it's own thing...

    Today's Smoke (2004-2022 Archive)

fuente friday, and i LOVE new shit! unnamed '13 robusto: this is some kind of opus wrapper. different priming, maybe, but the color and texture scream opus. it's NOT an opus, but parts are there.

    Anejo 46

let's be honest here, if you have NEVER had an anejo, burn it soon! there is little point to me to buy and age something i don't love, and won't continue to love over time. and yes, that implies that there are people who don't like anejos. i think they are f#@king high, but i respect their...
