AUGUST PHOTO OF THE MONTH As the self-appointed judge, based on my love of cigar porn, I have chosen the top photo for the month of August. And the winner is.... Yvan the Terrible. Honorable mention going to Marc and Joeheadjoe.

Oh boy, Im in over my head here (Cigar rolling club)

My suggestions may be a bit simplistic or downright useless but what the hell... my opinion is free. Pizza cutters work better than chevettas in my opinion as long as you sharpen them. For beginners get them to practice with paper filler and binder so they get an idea what they are doing...

Canadian Fronto. Are you saying that they still grow tobacco here in Canada. I thought all the farmers were paid to switch to Canola decades ago.

    Entubado, accordion, book fold....

I've been using the book method after trying other methods. It works best for me.

    Maintaining aroma

Yes, it's all about storage. Most of his observations were common sense but it was interesting to read his experiences with long-term storage. A few of his observations were; Limit air exchanges. Store in cigar boxes so opening the humidor does not introduce fresh air directly, Don't store is...

    Maintaining aroma

I was reading a magazine called Cigar Journal. It is an english/spanish magazine ( https://www.cigarjournal.com/about/current-issue/ ) . I don't usually find anything in it particularly interesting but this issue has an article on Maintaining the Aroma of Cigars. The author seems to have...

    Pics of Your Sticks

I've been using the "book" method for the past year. I've never seen the pros use it but for me it is so much easier to get a consistent ring gauge, leaf placement and density, and they burn great. What ever works....

Great video as always. You had quite a camo binder under that wrapper. I must say I enjoyed the blues music. I vote for more blues.

Southern Draw Rose of Sharon-Mind Blown

When this cigar won our BOTL top cigar for 2018 I had to try one. I bought a 5'er of Robustos and was very disappointed. I know I'm in the minority with this opinion but I found it boring. Not bad, just boring. Oh well...

    Stay vigilant! Mold lurks

One thing to remember is that ALL cigars have mold spores on them. Hell... everything has mold spores on them. You'd grow mold on your butt if you didn't wash it once in a while. You just need to keep the cigars out of the range that mold like to reproduce. That means keep the RH at below 70...

    Mold or plume

You're new to the forum so I'll assume this is a real question. It is mold my friend, it's ALWAYS mold. And if I can say one more thing.... it's ALWAYS mold! You have a serious problem with over humidification. Time to start asking some questions.

Nice rolls ! I'm looking at the foots and I'm guessing that you use the "book" method of bunching. Am I correct? The book method I use is to stack the leaves with the seco on the bottom and the ligero on the top, then fold them in half so the seco is on the outside and the ligero is inside...

    Vein roller

I have often had a problem deciding which side of the leaf the vein is sticking out on. Sometimes it's hard to tell. Then I realized that it is raised on the lighter side of the leaf so your wrapper leaf should always go darker side out. It took me a long time to figure that out.

    Homemade ashtry

    Vein roller

I have a couple of molds that I made but I don't usually use them as I find it difficult to get just the right amount of filler. I prefer to wrap each stick tight with a strip of newspaper. This works just as well for me, but it is a bit more work. Also, I have used my kitchen rolling pin to...

    Pics of Your Sticks

I'm sure you know this, but unless you are collecting seeds from that plant you should cut off the flower now. Also, very nice background for the cigar photo.
